A ne Epipolar Geometry via Factorization Method

چکیده
We present the intuitive interpretation of a ne epipolar geometry for the orthographic, scaled orthographic, and paraperspective projection models in terms of the factorization method for the generalized a ne projection (GAP) model proposed by Fujiki and Kurata (1997). Using the GAP model introduced by Mundy and Zisserman (1992), each a ne projection model can be resolved into the orthographic projection model by the introduction of virtual image planes, then the a ne epipolar geometry can be simply obtained from the estimates of the factorization method.

A Factorization-Based Method for Projective Reconstruction with Minimization of 2-D Reprojection Errors
In this paper, we consider the problem of projective reconstruction based on the factorization method. Unlike existing factorization based methods which minimize the SVD reprojection error, we propose to estimate the projective depths by minimizing the 2-D reprojection errors. An iterative algorithm is developed to minimize 2-D reprojection errors. This algorithm reconstructs the projective dep...
متن کاملEfficient image retrieval for 3D structures
Given a query image of an object, large scale image retrieval systems usually proceed in two steps: an initial ranking/short list based on visual words [4, 6]; followed by a reranking based on a geometric relation. In order for the retrieval to be immediate both steps must be extremely ef cient at run time. The visual words enable text retrieval like scalability and speed, but the reranking is ...
متن کاملStereo Calibration from Rigid Motions
This paper describes a method to upgrade projective reconstruction to a ne and to metric reconstructions using rigid general or planar motions of a stereo rig. We make clear the algebraic relationships between projective reconstruction, the plane at in nity (a ne reconstruction), camera calibration, and metric reconstruction when a 3-D scene is observed with a moving stereo rig. Based on an in-...
متن کاملA New Linear Method for Euclidean Motion/Structure from Three Calibrated Affine Views
We introduce a unified framework for developing matching constraints of multiple affine views and rederive 2-view (affine epipolar geometry) and 3-view (affine image transfer) constraints within this framwork. We then describe a new linear method for Euclidean motion and structure from 3 calibrated affine images, based on insight into the particular structure of these multiple-view constraints....
متن کاملARANDJELOVIĆ, ZISSERMAN: EFFICIENT IMAGE RETRIEVAL FOR 3D STRUCTURES 1 Ef cient image retrieval for 3D structures
Large scale image retrieval systems for speci c objects generally employ visual words together with a ranking based on a geometric relation between the query and target images. Previous work has used planar homographies for this geometric relation. Here we replace the planar transformation by epipolar geometry in order to improve the retrieval performance for 3D structures. To this end, we intr...
